Privacy notice

What we keep, why we keep it, who else sees it and how to get rid of it. In plain English, because a privacy notice nobody can read protects nobody.

Who this is for

Two kinds of people read this page.

  • Fitters. You have an account with us. We keep your details and your business details.
  • Homeowners. You have not signed up for anything. A pack came through your door because a local fitter uses us. The only thing we know about you is the address of the house you have bought.

What we keep about you

If you are a fitter with an account, we keep:

  • Your name, your email address and your password. The password is scrambled so nobody, including us, can read it.
  • Your business details: name, logo, brand colour, phone number, email address, website, the areas you cover and the sign off you want printed.
  • Photos of kitchens you have fitted, and the names and photos of products you fit, if you upload them.
  • Which plan you are on and how many packs you have left. Your card details go to Stripe, our payment company, and never come to us.
  • The packs you have made: which house, when, which designs, and what came back.
  • Normal server logs, so we can tell when something is broken.

What we keep about a house

When a house in your area sells, or when you give us a link to a property listing, we read the listing page and keep what the pack needs:

  • The address and postcode, the price, the selling agent’s name and the listing reference.
  • The listing photos and floorplan, saved on our private storage.
  • What we worked out from them: which photo is the kitchen, and the room size from the floorplan.
  • The designs we drew from that photo, and the pack made from them.

We do not know the name of the person who bought the house, and we never ask. A pack is addressed to The Homeowner at a property address, never to a named person.

Listing photos are never republished. The fitter sees them, our drawing service uses them to draw the room, and that is all. They are not printed on a pack, not shown on the web page behind the code, and not shown on this website.

Why we are allowed to

For fitters: because you have an account with us and we cannot run it without your details, and because we need to keep the service working and safe.

For houses: because a fitter has asked us to make a pack, and the information comes from pages the estate agent has already published and from public records of house sales. We only use it to make and post the pack.

Who else sees it

A short list. Each of these companies does one job for us, and none of them buys anything from us.

OpenAI
Reads the listing photos to find the kitchen and the room size, and draws the designs.
ScrapingBee
Fetches the listing page for us.
Stripe
Takes payment. Your card details go to Stripe and never to us.
Frankk, which is part of Stannp
Prints and posts the pack. They get the pack and the address it is going to.
Fathom Analytics
Counts visits to this website. It sets no cookies and cannot tell who you are.
Our hosting and email companies
Run the servers, the database and the emails we send you.

We never sell your information. We never give one fitter’s customers, or a homeowner’s address, to another fitter.

Some of these companies are outside the UK. Where they are, we use the standard legal terms that let information be sent there safely.

How long we keep it

  • Listing photos and floorplans are kept on private storage that you have to be signed in to reach.
  • Your designs and packs are kept while your account is open, so you can print a pack again whenever you like.
  • Close your account and we delete your account, your business details, your uploads and your packs. We keep the records the law makes us keep for tax, and nothing else.

What you can ask us to do

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you. You can ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email privacy@onyourpatch.com and we will reply within a month. It is free, and it never affects your account.

If a pack came through your door

The fitter whose name is on the pack is the person to talk to about the kitchen. If you would rather not get anything else from us, email privacy@onyourpatch.com with your address. We will take it off our system and keep it on a list of addresses never to send to again.

The web page behind the code on the pack has an address nobody can guess, and search engines are told to keep out of it. Nobody can find your house through us unless they were handed the pack.

Cookies

This website sets only the cookies it needs to work: one that keeps you signed in, one that protects our forms, and one that remembers an area you have drawn on the map so you do not have to draw it again when you sign up. There are no advertising cookies and nothing that follows you to other websites.

Complaints

Tell us first, at privacy@onyourpatch.com, and we will try to put it right. If you are still not happy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. They are the UK regulator for this.

Changes to this notice

If this notice changes in a way that matters, we will say so on the website and email account holders. The date at the top is the date of the version you are reading.
